Feng Chia Night Market is the largest and one of the most popular night markets in Taiwan, it is located in Xitun District in Taichung. The night market is next to Feng Chia University and encompasses Xitun Road, Fengchia Road, and Fuxing Road.
How Do You Get to Feng Chia Night Market?
With public transportation, from Taichung Railway Station you can catch Taichung City Bus (Routes 25, 35), and get off at Feng Chia University Stop. Otherwise, you can catch the local Taxi or Uber and just ask for Feng Chia Night Market, the address is Wenhua Road, Xitun District, Taichung City.
Feng Chia Night Market (逢甲夜市) also called Feng Chia Shopping Town was first established in 1963, it was established along with Feng Chia College of Engineering and Business (now Feng Chia University). Food/drink stalls & restaurants were opened along Wenhua Road, then expanded to Fengchia Road, Fuxing Road, and Xi’an Street…etc.

1. Japan Boat Takoyaki (日船章魚小丸子)
Opening Hours: 15:00 – 01:00
Takoyaki is one of the most popular delicacies in Japan. Japan Boat Takoyaki first opened in Taiwan in 1995, and many franchise stalls through the various night markets in Taiwan, and have also opened up stores in Hong Kong, Malaysia & China. The Feng Chia Night Market store is its main headquarter store, and many have said that it tastes the best.
2. Seaside Cottage (海邊小屋)
Opening Hours: 18:30 – 23:00 (Weekends: 18:00 – 23:00)
Seaside cottage offers delicious and affordable seafood, the clam is fresh, available in 5 flavors: Original Sea flavor clams (cooked in traditional rice wine), Black pepper clams, Garlic clams, Ginger clams & Goji clams.
Peeled prawns are also quite tasty, convenient to eat, and are also available in 5 flavors: Original flavor prawns, Shaoxing rice wine flavor prawns, Himalayan salt prawns, Spicy prawns, Pepper prawns.
3. Yixin Vegetarian Stinky Tofu (一心臭豆腐)
Opening Hours: 16:00 – 00:00 (Closed on Mondays)
The Stinky Tofu is crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside, the cucumber and kimchi complement the tofu very well. The stinkiness is pretty light, you can smell it from far away but when you bite into it there’s just a slight stinkiness which is really good.
4. Massage Chicken (按摩雞排)
Opening Hours: Monday – Thursday: 17:00 – 00:00, Friday – Sunday: 16:00 – 00:30

5. Gekiuma Yakitori (激旨燒鳥)
Opening Hours: Sunday – Thursday: 17:00 – 00:00, Friday – Saturday: 17:00 – 01:00
Gekiuma Yakitori is a great place to have a beer, lots of yakitori (Japanese grilled meat skewers), chill out and relax with friends, the menu includes multiple varieties of beef, pork, chicken and seafood. It has outdoor seating with lanterns, often has live music performance.
6. Devil Evolution Chicken (惡魔雞排)
Opening Hours: Monday – Friday: 16:00 – 03:00, Saturday – Sunday: 15:00 – 00:30
Devil Evolution Chicken is famous for its crispy on the outside yet juicy on the inside fried chicken cutlets that rival other popular fried chicken stalls like Hot Star and Shilin Fried Chicken. The cutlets are available in three flavors (Original, Salt & Pepper and Spicy) and three levels of spiciness(mild, normal, and extra spicy).
7. Ming Lun Chinese Omelet (明倫蛋餅)

Ming Lun Chinese Omelet has been open since 1978, it’s not too oily, and pretty light, good as a snack, there are 4 different flavors: special sweet & chilly sauce, soy sauce, pepper & spicy. It’s very popular with the locals, so expect a cue.
8. Kinmen stir-fried instant noodles (逢甲金門炒泡麵)
Opening Hours: 17:30 – 23:30
The stir-fried instant noodles originated from Kinmen, it was developed during the war period as a sort of fast food, using instant noodles with some shredded pork, vegetables, and egg. The owner of this stall is from Kinmen, so it tastes fairly authentic.
9. 598 Pepper Cakes (帝鈞胡椒餅)
Opening Hours: 16:30 – 23:30
598 Pepper Cakes is a famous pork pepper bun that originated from Taichung, with very crispy skin and juicy minced pork, it’s a bit more peppery compared to the other pork pepper buns.
10. Dody Duke Cheese Potato Store (多迪公爵馬鈴薯專門店)
Opening Hours: Sunday – Thursday: 17:00 – 22:30, Friday – Saturday: 17:00 – 23:45, Closed on Tuesdays
Dody Duke is a fairly new Cheese Potato specialty store that presents the mashed potato similar to an ice cream cone, paired with different toppings such as stir-fried chicken, German sausage, bacon, corn, broccoli, and honey mustard or cheese sauce.
Their fried potato slices are also a treat with 2 flavors: original and sweet & sour topped with their special spices.
